Foraged Christmas Decoration

I love Winter. Believe it or not, there is real colour - you just really have to look for it! Take holly for example - the vibrant green leaves offer the perfect backdrop to those bright red berries. Dogwood's come into their own too, thanks to the vibrant stems. This year, I've decided to make some simple homemade decorations that didn't cost the earth.

I started off with a jam jar (I always save jam jars as they come in handy for lots of things, never mind the chutneys, jams, pickles and relishes that are made from excess fruit and veg).

I jazzed up the jar thanks to some green twine finished with a bow.

I just made a quick and easy arrangement using things that I'd foraged either from the garden or near to home. This year, the holly had lots of berries which was great. I also found some lovely fir that offered a different texture and some softness to the overall arrangement.

We'd love to see what homemade makes you've done this year. Please do share.

Merry Christmas xx
