Wine & Dine at Atmosphere Kanifushi

It's our favourite place. We've visited three times. As food is a BIG part of our holiday, it's fair to say that it's a big reason why we keep returning to this fantastic premium all-inclusive resort.

There are 5 restaurants and 2 bars at Atmosphere Kanifushi:

Where to Eat:

The Spice

Open for: Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

Days open: every day

Style: Buffet

Indoor or Outdoor: Both! The outdoor deck is open for breakfast and dinner. Shade is provided thanks to the large cabana 'huts'. The indoor seating benefits from room-top fans and wall-ceiling open windows.

This is the all-day dining option and the buffet style, means it's an 'all you can eat' approach. There's also live cooking stations, grills, freshly baked breads and a separate 'cold room' that keeps salads and desserts lovely and cool in the hot climate.

In the evening, buffets are sometimes themed. Our favourite is the Indian Ocean evening (usually on a Friday). The curries are full of flavour and we love trying all of the various pickles, spices and speciality breads. The Spice is located towards the bottom of the island, near to the kid's club, clubhouse and Liquid Bar.

The Sunset

Open for: Lunch (Pool Bar) | Dinner (Speciality Restaurant)

Days open: every day

Style: A la carte

Indoor or Outdoor: It's indoor during the day (it's great to get out of the sun for a short while). In the evening, you can dine on the deck under the stars or indoors under a rooftop fan.

You'll find Sunset at the north of the island, by the adults-only pool. During the day, The Sunset Pool Bar is our favourite place to enjoy a light lunch. There's a choice of light meals from the a la carte menu and we enjoy things like classic burgers, sandwiches, salads and light snacks. Lunch is served 12.30pm - 3.30pm.

In the evening, The Sunset Pool Bar converts into an a la carte fine dining restaurant. The amount of times you can dine here is dependent upon the length of stay. Food is beautifully presented and the menu includes interesting, exciting dishes. On a Wednesday, The Sunset plays host to a White BBQ Night, whereby you can enjoy dinner on the beach under the stars!

Just Veg

Open for: Lunch | Dinner

Days open: every day

Style: A la carte

Indoor or Outdoor: Both! It's rather warm on the outdoor deck at lunchtime, but it's also a great place to spot baby sharks!

This is our favourite restaurant on the island and you can read just how much we love it on our blog post.

As the name suggests, it's a vegetarian restaurant. It was, in fact, the first of it's kind in the Maldives. Even committed carnivores will be guaranteed a fantastic meal. And if you're vegan there's so much choice too!

Ceylon Bliss

Open for: Dinner

Days open: every day except Wednesday and Sunday 5pm - 9pm.

Style: Sri Lankan Street Food

Indoor or Outdoor: Outdoor! Furniture is made from recycled materials. You get to sit amongst the hermit crabs.

This place is relaxed and informal. No need to book. Just turn up. It's located midway in the island. There's a fixed menu which changes daily. All recipes are based on traditional Sri Lankan food - and the devilled peanuts are so good!

If (like me) you have an allergy to fish there's always one evening that doesn't have fish on the menu. Bonus!

Teppanyaki Grill

Open for: Lunch | Dinner

Days open: every day

Style: Teppanyaki Grill

Indoor or Outdoor: Both - but be sure to grab a table by the large hot plate for an authentic experience.

This is a chargeable restaurant and not part of the all-inclusive plan. It's great fun and a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion. Marvel the magic of the chefs as they twirl, flip and juggle before your very eyes. For the food, choose from succulent meats or an extensive choice of fresh seafood.

Pier Six is brand new and we've not yet had a chance to try. It's built on Atmosphere Kanifushi's new overwater peninsula.

Where to Drink:

The Liquid

Open for: Lunch | Dinner

Days open: every day

A popular location on the island, near to The Spice restaurant. It's adjacent to the 50-metre pool and also overlooks the ocean. You'll be spoilt for choice and deciding what to drink could take some time. There's classic and signature cocktails and mocktails, premium beers and spirits and a wine list that spans a worldwide selection.

If you're a little peckish, late afternoon you'll be able to grab a snack.

This is a popular venue in the evenings due to theme nights, live music etc.

The Sunset

There's also a relaxing bar area at The Sunset. If it takes your fancy then there's the chance to take in a shisha. It's a relaxing place that's popular for couples who want to enjoy a quiet pre or post dinner drink.
